Anyone watching the solar eclipse today?

There's a partial solar eclipse visible in Great Britain starting about now. I made a pinhole projector earlier, but it looks like the clouds will be blocking the view.

It's shite being Scottish
About 22yrs ago this August, there was a total solar eclipse across England but only partial across Scotland albeit 95%. Loads of people headed down South to see the total. It was cloudy and it just went dark. I was in Pittenweem in Fife on my honeymoon and the views were great. ^_^

The one in 1998 was very good, that was a full one. None of your cheap partial nonsense.

I remember the birds all went eerily quiet whilst it was eclipsing.

Just been out to see it. It's cloudy here but the cloud cover is thin and variable. Occasionally visible with the naked eye through the cloud, when too bright for that I've been watching through a strip of fogged black and white film.

I can confirm that the gods are hungry and have taken a bite out of the top left of the sun.
