Morning all. Don‘t be mad at me for creating a new post but all I’m trying to do is have a thread for all the good cycling stuff. All the things I own right now are from Decathlon (my go to shop) as they are very pocket friendly.

What I would like to know - company / feel / fit / budget / keep it & buy more or discard - from the stuff that you own only (links if possible).

“Your go to stuff only, season wise or all seasons.”

This list will be of potential help to me or to any future buyers.

Spring / Winter / Autumn / Summer:

1) Base layer - don’t have one.
2) Jersey - Van Rysel from Decathlon for all seasons.
3) Wind sheet - Pinnacle again from Decathlon.
4) Rain Jacket - don’t have one.
5) Gilet - Primark.
6) Thermal Gloves - again from Decathlon ( x2 pairs).
7) Cycling tights - Pinnacle (ankle length) from Decathlon for all seasons.
8) Cycling shoes - Regular flat everyday shoes.
9) Front light - none except for the Decathlon light that came with the bike.
10) Rear light - CooSpo radar.
11) Navigation - CooSpo CS600.
12) Helmet - Decathlon again.
13) HI-Vis - Halfords.

Try to follow the above format if possible and do list them in preferential order if you have more season wise.

After decades of different brands I know these work for me. Price wise they're all top of the range but I'm happy to pay for comfort, fit and quality. Anything else is a compromise in relation to my body and my cycling. It's entirely personal.

Clothing

• Lusso for everything except below. By far the best affordable kit available and genuinely handmade in Manchester. Assos is probably better but I can't even consider their prices
• Galibier for winter gilets and jackets
• OMM for lightweight, extremely packable, waterproof

3) Wind sheet - not sure what this is - hard shell outer?

5) Gilet - Decathlon + Galibier (Iozard).
6) Thermal Gloves - Decathlon
7) Cycling tights - all sorts - Decathlon, Castelli, Assos, Lusso, Galibier, Kalas
8) Cycling shoes - Lake
9) Front light - Lezyne
10) Rear light - Lezyne
11) Navigation - n/a

13) HI-Vis - n/a

1) Base layer - various mesh vest ones for Summer (Sportful, DHB, Craft). Craft long sleeve ones for winter
2) Jersey - loads, Rapha, Galibier, La Passione, Cafe du Cycliste, Lusso.
3) Wind sheet - assuming you mean windproof, have a Sportful Hotpack and a couple of different soft shell jackets such as a Castelli Alpha
4) Rain Jacket - Gore Shakedry
5) Gilet - Rapha Brevet Alpha
6) Thermal Gloves - Galibier or some cheap insulated work gloves
7) Cycling tights - Pactimo, Sportful. Bib shorts - Pactimo, Galibier, Albion.
8) Cycling shoes - Shimano or Fizik
9) Front light - don't generally ride in the dark since I've got a smart trainer
10) Rear light - Moon
11) Navigation - Wahoo Element Bolt.
12) Helmet - Kask Protone
13) HI-Vis - don't bother

1) Base layer - don’t have one.
2) Jersey - two Castelli short sleeved for summer (bought from Merlin on sale). Two Santini long sleeved for winter - bought from Sportpursuit.
3) Wind sheet - What is a Wind sheet? Whatever it is, don't have one.
4) Rain Jacket - don’t have one.
5) Gilet - Proviz Supplied by my cycling club.
6) Thermal Gloves - Multiple pairs of gloves ranging from very thin, through 3 pairs from Decathlon of different warmth, up to ski gloves for really cold winter weather.
7) Cycling tights - Don't have any. Use leg warmers with my shorts for all but the very coldest weather, I have a pair of non-cylcling specific leggings that I will add if riding in sub zero temps.
8) Cycling shoes - Endura, with SPD cleats, bought a couple of weeks ago on sale in Evans.
9) Front light - Ravemen PR1600 - I commute all year, in the dark for the rural part of the ride in the winter, so need good lights.
10) Rear light - cateye, can't remember the model.
11) Navigation - Wahoo Elmnt Roam (original version)
12) Helmet - Lazr MIPS helmet, bought from Halfords, doesn't seem to be in stock now.
13) HI-Vis - Proviz Gilet, supplied by my club, only worn in winter.
14) You seem to have missed shorts from your list - Santini, bought from Sportpursuit.

Wind sheet. 2 Castelli perfecto’s.
Rain Jacket. Gore shakedry.
Gillet. Assos, Le Col and some other brand.
Gloves. Endura, Ski gloves, Assos.
Tights. Assos wind block x 2, Rapha winter tights, Assos
Shoes. 2 pairs of Lakes, 2 pairs of Sidi’s.
Lights. Various stuff. Don’t use the much apart from the Moon day time flashers.
Navigation. Wahoo Bolt.
Helmets. 2 Kasks.
No Hivis
Shorts. 3 Rapha, one Le Col.
Most of my stuff was bought as either birthday or Christmas presents.

Base layer - elderly Nike running tops, I also have a Rohan merino but don't use
Jerseys - too many, most often worn, Stolen Goat/VeloVixen (LS and SS), Altura, Endura, Specialized, Pearl Izumi
Shorts - Sugoi, Assos, some ancient Gorebike ones which have gone a bit thin!
3/4 - Pearl Izumi, Sportful
Longs - Altura Winter Cruiser (over padded shorts/tights), Sugoi tights, some Karrimor running tights if cool but not cold (over shorts)
Light waterproof - Van Rysel from Decathlon (or perhaps the prior brand name)
Winter coat - Ancient Altura Night vision, Endura
Lighter winter jackets - Sugoi reflective, Altura , Presca
Gilet - Pearl Izumi (yellow, red). Altura
Gloves/mitts - mostly Stolen Goat and Specialized but I do have Louis Garneau/Pearl Izumi, Sealskinz, some old Evans brand
Glasses - Rx Oakley Bottle Rocket
Helmets - Uvex / Kask Mojito
Recording - Apple Watch, iPhone, Garmin 830 (occasional Nav + Google Maps)
Shoes - trail running shoes - currently ASICS
Lights - varies by bike but I have a front Moon, Front cateye, something from PX, rear not sure on brands

TBF a lot of the above was bought when I was in the trade so got good deals on helmets,garmin etc ;always paid to keep on the good side of area reps
