I sit just me or does riding on a bike seem to attract idiots. In the space of the week I was insulted racially by kids from a car, had a kid play chicken with me insulting me when I didn't move and had a group of lads insult me from a car about my commuter style mudguards. Does any one else think that cyclists are targets for abuse?

Where do you commute?
Feltham?

Doing anything away from the norm (and cycling isn't normal according wayne and waynetta public) will attract attention. It's how you deal with it that counts. I like to turn up at thier home address once in my work clothes and offer words of advice. Unfortunately for us we are a little vulneable to be wearing tops with anti motoring slogans on them I feel.

You had a group of lads insult you about your mudguards ? Very discerning hooligans by you, watch you don't let your chain get slack or you will be in for it.

Cyclists are an out group. Pedestrians are also subject to nasty behaviour and are very much more vurnerable generally to it than cyclists but as this is a cycling forum, rarely gets mentioned.
