Over the summer months my young daughter and I have been riding the forest tracks on our mountain bikes.. These excursions usually ending up with a puncture to repair, ( yeah, great fun aint it!?)
I purchased a 'Halfords puncture repair kit' mainly because it included the tools to do the job.
The problem....
On three occasions, after repairing a tube, it has blown out through the patch, leaving no alternative but to fit a new tube the second time around!....... Surely this shouldnt be happening??... And yes, I am checking the tyre and removing the thorn or whatever....
This leads me to ask..... Are Halfords patches just shite???? and what would be the best puncture repair kit to buy?

). It was quicker to walk back to work (about two miles) and get the bus fare from my locker. Lesson learnt, but I'm not sure whether the Halfords patches were to blame, I've used them successfully in the past. Does the Vulcanising fluid have a shelf life? It was an old tube (of glue) and it certainly didn't seem to be working very well.
