Nice article, I'm off to a wedding in Galway next week and am cycling in Ireland hopefully in September.
Always know it as a bike ride.

As in "I'm going for a cycle".
The variations in English language usage help make life interesting for travellers:smile:.
It was only after becoming involved with a cycling organisation, cycling forums etc that I realised the word 'ride' was so widely used in cycling circles. I've always used phrases like 'going for run on the bike', 'I was cycling along the road' etc..
I can still remember my shock when a cyclist I barely knew, asked if I'd had a ride at the weekend:eek:.

Forget the "Rebel County", head for the "Banner", like Jane Hogan. Or the "Red and Green".

There's never been a better time to swap four wheels for two in Ireland.

From short, à la carte greenway spins to epic circuits of Slea Head and the Comeraghs, we've lined up seven amazing cycles (scroll down) to highlight Ireland's amazing cycling potential, whether you're up for 10km or 100km.

Without following the link, I bet it's been written by a "young'un".
