as it makes no reference to to the finest place to cycle in Ireland, indeed the finest place to do anything and everything in Ireland

The variations in English language usage help make life interesting for travellers.
It was only after becoming involved with a cycling organisation, cycling forums etc that I realised the word 'ride' was so widely used in cycling circles. I've always used phrases like 'going for run on the bike', 'I was cycling along the road' etc..
I can still remember my shock when a cyclist I barely knew, asked if I'd had a ride at the weekend.
