I live in Wilmslow, a fairly affluent suburb, mostly its ok cycling as the cars are shiny and reasonably well driven, there is a selfish and thrusty aggressive element but on the whole it isnt too bad.

I cycled through a council estate last night on the way home, nothing against Council Estates as thats where I am from, but the standard of driving and the hazards doubled comapred to the private estate I had just come from, a Taxi flew past, another came tearing from aside road, loads of kids charging into the road, a Dog, untethered barking as I went past left the estate and was back to normality !

Anyone else noticed this ?

I come from Wilmslow  last time I cycled there I was nearly knocked off by a 4x4. I don't think they're used to cyclists panting up the hill towards Styal prison.

Were you in Wythenshawe? only advisable to cycle through there if you're on a stolen BMX with 10 of your mates who are also on stolen BMXs xx(

Hazards everywhere mate. My commute takes me through Notting Hill/Kensington and people driving sportscars and 4x4s are some of the worst on the road.

My commute take a turn for the worst in Peckham. The bad driving/parking/incompetence on Rye Lane has to be seen to be believed.

Road signs and the Road Traffic Acts have no meaning in Peckham.

Myself and a collegue commute via a road we have re-named
"missile alley" It fits in with the above mentined criteria

My experiences are the opposite. In general, I get given a wider berth by traffic when I'm going through the locally renowned "dodgy" estate, whereas I find that on the commuter estate a few miles up the road the attitude seems to be that you're only on a bike 'cos you can't afford a car and therefore are scum that deserves to die.

Course, there are exceptions to these generalisations and you do get some worrying looking feral children in the "dodgy" estate. Having said that, some of the kids on the posh estate are no better. They've just got more expensive clothes on.

Its because 'the people' have things gave to them rather than earn them = appreciation versus non-appreciation !

Well thats correct - aint it.
