I was in Leeds this afternoon, just walking into the city-centre, having parked up after collecting a Goat Curry (& a 24 pack of 'SuperMalts' from up Roundhay Road)

Between the BusStation & MillGarth Police Station, I saw a bike the like of which I haven't seen for years

Okay, it may not be top-line equipment, but someone obviously likes it enough to put fancy purple mudguards on it

I remember the Raleigh Arena, originally with the chrome mudguards. I'm sure it was the 'Mum/Dad I want one of those" item just before my Raleigh Merlin came out.
I ended up with Merlin. Dark metallic green, Shimano Positron pre-select gears (no less!), straight bars and thousands of happy miles.

Yes its my Flyer, frameset and forks are 1964 and the rest is a mixture of new or NOS/vintage parts.
