That sucks! Threaded? I assume you mean it's been stripped out of the frame?
as @vickster says, you could jump on the 30 day return from a new bike.
Though I suspect you may bump, scratch or even crash given where youre going to use it among other cyclists at some point, so its probably not good to use an expensive bike for that

Doing 100 miles is hard enough on a road bike, let alone a heavy slow bike. If anyone really wants to, I'm not going to stop them but I wouldn't fancy it personally!
