I would stay where I am as i am in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of sheep, cattle, some pigs around here as well as chickens. I would get a wind turbine from somewhere though, so i would have electricity. I already have plenty of rainwater, and private sewerage, and getting vegetable seeds wouldn't be hard either. I would be quite happy, although it would be quite nice if the weather improved here as a result of whatever happened.


I might even be brave enough to take my vest off.

You'd get used to it. With no real distractions in the background and you working at staying alive, time would soon pass.

I think almost everyone would succumb and do this eventually.

Some might last until old age and ill health, and then do it. But most people if faced with being the only one left, after a period of searching for other(s) would give up on life. This could take a few months or a few years depending on the individual.

If it happened tomorrow, I'd be gone regardless in 3-4 years once the pacemaker / defib battery goes flat.

Hide under the stairs until all the planes had finished falling out of the sky and all the machines that require human interaction had finished blowing up, which is especially important given that Aldermaston Atomic Weapons Establishment is less than 10 miles from here and has been under special measures (for safety) for the last 5 years.
