Artists you used to hate...

There was a LOT of this kind of music in the mid 70s and I hated it with a passion (prefering the rock music on offer). But now I've developed a liking for it, maybe because I've a bad cold and I've been doing Barry White impersonations all day!

As a youngster/yoof, I really detested Depeche Mode.
I got into them with the Songs of Faith And Devotion album.
Though still do not like their earlier pop stuff.

Their latest single is brilliant

always liked 70's pop, rock, disco, funk, soul, whatever

however being an '80's teen... i hated most of the pop at the time... I was young so i'd judge a band by their haircut, dancing and clothing... so The Smiths... NO! The Cure... NO! Wham... NO! Hip-Hop... HO! Bon Jovi... NO! etc...

Now I've got over myself, I like most 80's music (even Wham), but still can't stand the likes of Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Van Halen and all that poodle perm blouse rock



edit... I also used to hate Frank Zappa, but after 18 months of a friend constantly playing it... I was battered in to submission and spent most of the early 90's listening to Zappa.

in fact, there'sloads of music i used to hate but now like... too much to list. Music is like wine and cheese... it gets better with age.
