Below was one of my favourite views on a ride (& posted in the Wind Turbine thread as my attempt at 'Big Trees'...) and below that the result of a recent disease, the farmer has had to cut them down, not sure what type of tree they were?

Honestly, they are a pox up here. Absolute PITA, constantly pulling saplings out of our garden.

A bit sad that they all might die off though. The woods (predominantly Ash) opposite the front of our house have looked a bit sparse for a few yeas now.

well seasoned ash fetches around £200 per ton so there'll be significant gains going on in someone's pocket :whistle:

Not when the wood has been badly affected by Ash die back.
