...coming from Africa, where I used to think a 15yo car was pretty new!

It is!

I'm happy with my £350 16 year old Skoda estate with sub-45'000 miles - I can throw stock in it from the cash & carry, I can throw muddy boots and gaiters in the back after a long wet walk through peat bogs, I can drive it to away football matches where train is prohibitive and leave it in industrial estate car parks, and not worry like I would if it werea newer car

Its in good running order and gets me about, the seats are comfy and my arms are capable of winding a lever if I require the window open

That sums the laziness of cars to me, some people would not consider having to turn a handle to open a window and would probably prefer voice actuation rather than having to actually touch a button

Only modern luxury I wish it had was air-con but in this country that's only a few weeks anyway!

And walk it in about an hour. On a nice morning it is sometimes even preferable to riding the bike. Honest...sometimes.

It's just pathetic how lazy people are now. I'm no tri-athlete, not by any stretch, but at least when I can (when it isn't raining, no wet weather gear) I cycle the 3 miles to college.

And people wonder why kids are huge these days. It's not because they subsist on McD's, it's because they're all lazy b@stards.
