That's better than the prints that are selling like hot cakes in places like Habitat and Ikea. People would snap that up.

When we dress properties for sale one of the girls always picks prints like this and it amazes me the amount of people who ask where we got it. Well done.

Very...the tree is ideally placed...about thirty yards from the carpark for one thing......and it's got lovely scenery behind it but nothing to clutter the shot either. So perfick, really.

Nice. I'd have dropped the viewpoint by a tad to bring that fork in the tree into view and flatten the water out of it giving more space to the sky, then I would have done it landscape with the tree one third across the frame, probably to the right. I'd have taken about 20 shots then gradually eliminated them. So go on - how many did you take?

Lovey atmospheric shot though, well done. I'd like to do more time exposures of water.

Have you been up to Rannoch Moor and taken "that other tree" that so inspired Roger Dean who did the Yes album covers?

It wouldn't have worked with the tree to the right as the sun was setting so close that I would have got huge flare so not possible.

And I took lots of shots - however, I was limited by time...doing a long exposure, getting the focus locked, screwing in the ND1000, taking the 30 second exposure, waiting for my (sloooooow) camera to process the image...looking at the image, looking at the histogram...and repeating. All the while shivering my sassenach ass off on a cold November's day.

So what's the tree on Rannoch Moor - do you have a photie of it?

I like the composure - the opposite shoreline is one third up and I think the tree looks better being in the center - with the hills sharp and the water and clouds blurred it really stands out.

Is that all that you did with the ND filter and the exposure? Not having any real experience of filters myself, is it that that gave the colour to it?

Really, really like it.

Hi!...the ND filter does give quite a warm glow to the picture, especially if you've not dialled the WB towards cold beforehand...but I added contrast (which upped the colour saturation and made it even warmer) and some vignetting digitally.

That toad is golden! Ace, the way he's peeking out. I didn't realise they came in any colour than green (show's what an animal philistine I am). Cool that it got in the paper, too.
