Attempted murder last night!

Overnight something broke in to my garden and committed an attempted murder, luckily my plucky little tortoise fought them off, but had her leg bitten off in the process!

We have spent the day at the vets, and she now has to have the stump cleaned twice a day, and honey applied to it. Every other day I have to inject her with antibiotics and pain killers.

It's been stapled and now stitched up. She must be in so much pain

What was it that managed to get a leg to chew on? Must be more than a cat. Fox?

Poor thing. Probabaly a Fox ifshe was left out in the garden.

Yep, the vet reckons a fox. He said that dogs usually end up chewing tortoises as though they are a snack in a crunchy coating.

It was also very cleanly done, and not chewed off which is rats do it!

The vet has suggested that a wheel from a Lego set could be glued under where the leg would be, and all will be well! So I need to get a Lego wheel that pivots so she can go round corners.

I thought that among reptiles it was only lizards that could do that with their tails, as they can "let go" of it if it somehow gets trapped.
