Ever since The Laughing Cow first sponsored the Tour de France, hundreds of thousands of francs and Euros have been spent on promoting the Tour.

I love the event; in my opinion, it is one of the greatest ongoing sporting competitions in the world.

I am attempting something different: the “Alternative Tour de France”.



You have the north to south route, the west to east, east to west, the diagonals, all of which have already been done, but not 5,000 km, right around the borders and coasts of France.

Best of luck with 'Le Tour' - That is a superb challenge you've set yourself.

If you'd been doing the Atlantic coast in July, I would have loved to tag along for a few miles, but unfortunately I'll be back in the UK by the time you set off.

Looking forward to reading how it goes.
