This morning is what makes cycling to work great.

Cycling in shorts and a short sleeve shirt in late September, with a clear blue sky above.

The cool crisp air as you set off, the feeling of the weak morning sun on your face.

The leaves turning golden, the mist slowly rising from the grass as you cycle along.

Sorry if this is starting to sound like a 15 year olds GCSE poem, but it was a great ride in this moring and we have another 2 days of great weather to come!!

You really should have made this thread title "Autumnal Morning Glory".

Hyde park was STUNNING this morning, the sun was just clearing the horizon and lighting up the tops of the trees whilst a mist was hanging on the grass, It looked like a movie shoot it was so perfect.

I want to be on the bike, but I have contracted something like a cold but not quite and the main symptom is that I am very short of breath. Hope I will be back on the bike next week but I bet it's raining then.

The weather has been fantastic here too.

Someone at work was moaning that 'the big freeze' is forecast to begin late next week (probably a Daily Mail reader).

I cycled the long way to and from work to take advantage of the extra sun, I saw loads more cyclists than normal, and everyone was grinning and waving or making some quip as we passed each other.

Top Day :becool:

Monday: Run home, so train in to work. As the day progresses, realise that I'm a little off-colour, so don't risk the run home, and take the train instead.
Tuesday: Cat to vet for an operation, so have to take the car instead.
Wednesday: Another plan to run home, so train in to work. Do get to run home, but arrive very, very hot.
Thursday: Ride to work on my bike.
Friday: Get bike out of garage, only to find that it has a puncture. Change back into civvies, and drive in again.

1/5 on the bike on the best cycling week of the year. Did better than that during the snows of January.

More like summer here the last couple of days, last Friday I had a morning on the bike, Earlswood and back and did 48 miles, needed a winter jacket, today I cycled to work in my shirt sleeves.

Try living on the coast its been a bugger of a week headwind going and coming home  not nice when its full on -

You see here on the west coast we get these darn cold arctic winds dragged along the gulf stream these meet the lovely warm winds coming up from africa and southern europe they like to meet where I commute and when warm meets cold you get poxy wind

Now heres a thing about the wind brothers I get along just fine with Tail  me and him are the best of buddies but Head  we just dont see eye to eye you could say we have a tempestuous relationship he's the bugger that trims anything up to 5mph off my average I dont mid Cross  he's neither here nor there when your going north to south and vice versa

So when you city boys are lapping up the sunshine spare a thoguht for us coastal peeps riding the wind tunnel on a daily basis
