Aww...it'll never be the same again

Not the fanciest bike, bit of a tank (but a base for putting my old disc wheels with 9sp cassette an the rear and upgrading drivetrain) but it's new and shiny. Well, it's not shiny, it's matt - but it's NEW!

And after putting it all together, fighting with rack combinations that fitted and bending custom disc brake mudguard stays, it's all gleaming and ready to ride home from work

In the snowy sleety mucky rain

It will never look quite like this again and that's quite sad, even if it is only a £200 utility hack.

Yeah, managed to get it through a trade clearance of 2015 models. Not supposed to do that but work let me as a one-off since I've worked so much overtime recently, wouldn't have paid £300 for it but £195+VAT was too good to pass up since my tourer was creaking, clunking, grating and being patched up on the fly to keep me going - now I can spend some time on getting that back to good nick and use it for "best"
