Given that it should have been Proportional Representation not AV, what will voting yes achieve apart from make vote counting more difficult and confusing for the army of volunteers at every election., leading to errors, and loads of re-counts... and claims of mismanagement.

Why more confusing for the counters? They only have to sort into piles based on choice one, and count them, then redistribute the lowest on the basis of 2, etc. It might take longer, but anyone of average intelligence ought to be up to it.

It's the sort of slightly OCD job I'd love doing!

I don't mind you knowing. I've voted for a change in the system. I actually understood the leaflet on how it works. Seems pretty straight forward really.

We used AV to select our Student's Union Officers at Uni. You got a nice triangle based result sheet that was very easy to read. If we could do that as amateurs why should professional polling companies/council returning officers be unable to handle it?

Why do all the Nos talk such rubbish?

If you want voting reform then vote for reform. Simples.

They are not volunteers they get paid for it.

What is confusing about it? Nothing!
Why will there suddenly be errors when you count a second choice instead of a first choice?

All the votes can of course be counted again and checked again if they want to. It may take an hour extra to do but it is just counting votes.

Ask a six year old what they want to drink and they may say Orange Juice. If you then say "what if we dont have orange juice" they manage to undestand the concept and may say lemonade. how is this difficult if a six year old can follow it.
