But, amongst my long list of complaints about Aubergines, which includes the taste, colour, texture, smell and the taste, is the fact they go off so quickly, even before I've had time to reconsider why I bought one and lob it in the bin.There is if you let it go mouldy before getting around to cooking it which was the fate of the four or five aubergines that never made it to the ratatouile that I eventually got around to making last night after four months of false starts - I kept nicking the other ingredients for more more appealing dishes.
