Back in the saddle after 3 1/2 weeks off nursing an injury. God I felt it this morning, my legs were alright it was my breathing. Hopefully my fitness will return quite quickly. It's good to be cycling again though, I've really missed it!

glad to hear you're back on the bike.
It won't take long for your body to get used to being back in the saddle again.

Well I'm just going to take it easy, I'll probably only commute in a couple of times this week, and slowly build up over the next few weeks, my shoulders strapped up for support, still got pain with it so I'm just taking things slow and steady, but each week there's bigger improvements with my shoulder.

I had a couple of weeks off cycling before September, but this month I have commuted in by bike for every day bar one.

I completely agree with the others, you'll be amazed how quickly it comes back if you just keep pedalling. I think that you notice it more on a regular route where you have an innate feeling of how you usually feel at certain stages of the ride and what gear you'd usually be in.

Just remember that your base level of fitness is still probably miles above the general population

Yep, no point in running yourself to the ground. When I got back into it I had a few "cheat days" at the start where I put the bike on the back of my wife's car to miss out the first big hill, parking in a really quiet village. Leave yourself plenty of time and enjoy it...

That's good recovery. Can you pull on the affected shoulder or is it sat down stuff - I had to shift right down with the road bikes a few weeks after my op. Was 7 weeks before I got back on the fixed though.

I have to stay seated, I can't get out the saddle as it puts to much pressure on my shoulder. Got my panniers back on as I can't use my rucksack as it would be to painfull on my shoulder.
