Today is the first time I have ridden into work since the beginning of December. The weather has been absolutely foul, when we haven't had 3ft of snow we've had ice, and when we haven't had ice it's been raining heavily.
It was horrendously muddy down the trails, to the extent that at times as I was pedalling my back wheel was just spinning round :-( That combined with a headwind the entire way meant it took me an extra 10 minutes compared to normal, and I was exhausted! On the plus side I have lost about a stone since last time I rode so uphills are noticeably easier now.
It's taken a while to get my motivation up with this horrendous weather, so I suppose it's a start :-) And now the sun has come out so hopefully be a dry ride home!
