Thanks for the replies, I'd never thought about my knee alignment, but I definately need to look at my position on the bike, I've just moved the saddle back as much as it will go, ( it was in the middle of its range ). Also with this being a new ( selfbuild ) bike I have made the handlebar position a bit higher than I would have had in the past, so I feel a little cramped. I agree brummie77 physio's didn't seem that usefull.
mgarl10024 dislocated kneecap sounds really bad, worse then a fracture. Specialists have told me that I may need at least two knee replacements in my lifetime, due to the malalignment of the bits of kneecap, so if your kneecap is in one piece it might not need replacing
certain exercises might help the muscles around the joint to stabilise it.
