So today I'm in a single lane, traveling at about 15mph (in a 30), directly behind a slow moving people carrier, and I'm about 50 yards from some red lights, and the car behind me tries to over take, and somehow find a space infront of me that's just not there.

Because of the slow speed we where moving, and the fact there was not a lot of space for me I decided to stand my ground and not even try to move out of his way. So for about 40 yards the car is traveling parallel with me, in the opposite lane, he's unable to pull in because I'm not moving ( and I don't really have anywhere to go to be honest), hes unwilling to pull back in behind me (why I don't know), and there's simply no space in front of me, and we all have to stop in a minute because of the red light.

But here's the strange thing.... While he's next to me in the opposite lane I'm looking directly into the car with a very very perplexed look on my face, the two people in the back of the car are also looking perplexed, they both look at me, then to the driver, then back to me with total confusion on their faces too (I'm pretty sure one even shrugged) ...I don't think they really know what the driver is doing. I though, with no effort at all tap a few times on the window while still traveling at 10-15mph (I'm very calm at this point), the driver does not even acknowledge I'm there.

We all stop at the red light, he's 2/3 in the other lane, I'm boxed in...I'm still tapping on his window trying to get some kind of acknowledgement and he's just looking forward unflinching and with no expression, this goes on for a full 10 seconds. The lights change, it's a junction so I immediately turn left and the driver carries on straight never to be seen again.

Now I never felt in danger, the driver was not being aggressive, but I do find the whole thing kinda confusing... Anyway that's it really, i just wasted to get that off my chest

Probably didn't want to look at you because they knew were wrong, and didn't want to have a confrontation with you (not saying you did either, but they don't know that and you were tapping on the window).

It happens now and again. They forget that waiting or braking is still an option.. but somehow pride gets the better of them and they have to commit.
