Back in 1996 on my Cycling trip from Singapore to Hong Kong I was shot at on the road between Saim Reap to Phon Phen, good job they were poor shots, two weeks later 2 Aussie where killed in the same area, at that time Cambodia was still a tad dodgy, On the same trip I was refused entry into Vietnam as the authorities were concerned for my safety, as Hong Kong was forcible returning the Boat people back to Vietnam prior to Britain handing back HK to China, and they we scared that I would be attacked for being British. but Hiccups to ones plans makes for interesting solutions.
