At our old house I used to love hearing the sounds of the burners over our house, and occasionally the would land on nearby open land. Don't get to see them as much now.
Every time the balloon fiesta was on, you'd study the wind trying to work out if the were coming your direction.

Yes, usually about the second weekend in August.... So it's often wet and windy. Then there's a kite festival in September when the reverse occurs and it's not windy enough. (Or that's how it often seems to me).They have a balloon festival in Bristol don't they ?
Used to see them a lot around Tunbridge Wells and Cranbrook. Now i see quite a few microlights, saw 4 today on my ride.
