Balloons!!!!

We saw a couple of balloons out flying tonight. We see the same 2 fairly regularly in the summer evenings.

Microlights look seriously scary to me, but then I don't much like heights.

Now this is something you don't see very often at 5.30am on a sunday morning looking out of an Orpington bedroom window.

There goes the neighbourhood.

In remote and otherwise inaccessible East Sussex they drop provisions to keep us going until next time.

Sometimes the locals get greedy and bring one down, thirsty for champagne.

We had one land in a field a few yards from our house the other day, the pilot effed up the descent and took out a power cable, it frightened Sue's chickens and we obviously had a power cut. Caused quite a stir, the event made the village newsletter. What surprised me was how quick the electricity company bloke got there, apparently he was very quick to tell the pilot to stay put and not depart without his say so.
