Having a go on one is OK but to buy or own one I'll leave to others. I've worked on bamboo scaffolding 10 metres in the air and I did not like the experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the very earliest bikes were made of wood.

Can't see any reason why bamboo shouldn't work, but with any natural material there's variation between samples - could be interesting for high performance frames.

Main requirement is flexibility and strength. That's why steel makes good bike frames and aluminium doesn't

Having used bamboo on a bathroom floor I'm a believer. It's fantastically hard wearing and shrugs off water.

Can you still get hickory rims? And silk tyres?
