Love the ā€œteenagerā€ on the Chopper, he has the face of a mid 40’s sports presenter.

That might be because Choppers weren't that good! I never had/owned one as my bikes were made from other bike parts, put together by my dad. Plus we lived in a very hilly town (I still live in the same town) and as far as I remember, Choppers were crap on hills!

Inspired by Evel Knieval I attempted to break the sound barrier on a Raleigh Chopper at age 7.

That my hereo Mr Knieval spent most of his career in traction didnt register with me, and as I approached transonic speeds I lost control and it spat me off, putting me in hospital all summer with a broken pelvis.

BTW, that malarkey about the controls being reversed at transonic speeds is b******s! If anything thats what probably ended the record attempted for me. Damn you to Hell John Justin, damn you to Hell!!!

Even today kids 'hang around' on bikes. The riding experience was secondary.

Acct you are living in the past with a poor recollection of what was good.
That car radio is useless. 1 long wave preset and 4 medium wave presets. No cassette either. The sound would also be terrible.
Quite why anyone would prefer that over what we have today is beyond me.
The only benefit is that it’s easy to use, but that’s because it doesn’t do much.

OK, maybe I should've said how the things they sold/sell have changed, as in car entertainment! Give me one of those radio/cassette players over one of these any day!!šŸ˜‰

A lifetime of entertainment. The time updates every minute and once a day that date changes. It’ll never repeat @Accy , you cant say that for a radio or cassette!
