Bar End Plug Question (roadbike)

So I lost a bar end plug, not a problem Ill just buy another push in one and have done with it....but....

iv noticed there are loads if differnet types on the market - some metal one, some with screw fittings (?) but they are all sold as "Bar ends" without specifying what type of bike they are for.

I have drop handlebars, are push in plastic bung ones the only option for me?

When you buy a roll of bar tape, you usually get a set (definitely do with Cinelli cork tape), I just use those!

I find the plastic ones you get with bar tape invariably rubbish
they either wont go in or they just fall out
I've used plastic wine bottle corks for years
cut it in half, cut a slight taper on it, tap it in,consume contents of bottle
