I have bar end shifters on my bike (Shimano dura ace SL-BS77)

Yesterday I snagged the cable and and have broken the plastic cable cap which fits into the lever,:cursing: (the cap has a narrow guide tube at teh end which seems to fit into the lever). I will have to head off to my local bike shop to get a new one but as it is not a common piece I was wondering if anyone knew the part number?

I have looked on shimano tech docs

http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/t...V-SMALL_PARTS-1327O_v1_m56577569830750218.pdf

and the nearest I can find (item 5 on the tech docs) is a two piece cap (mine is one piece, similar to the part on the left) for an SP40 cable (mine is SP41).

many thanks

This is teh problem, It is not on there.

The part is a cable cap but with a long "nose". The nose pushes into the underside of the lever (you can not see in the diagram) and the cable inner runs through it. the normal end of the cap goes over the end of the outer cable.

The sun is now shining and so I'm tempted to stick the thing back together with gaffer tap so that I can get out in the morning:rolleyes:
