Just wondering what people thought of this? Fire engine pulls up just before the main crossroad (not much before the white line), where quite a few cyclists have been squashed and killed. One of them gets out and pops into the bank. I can't say if he went in on fire related business or to pick up holiday money, that don't concern me. (kind of story you see lots of where policemen go int and do shopping at supermarkets while still on duty.)

What i was thinking of, was the bad parking, right on the busy junction. What ever business he was on, surely it would have been safer to pull up else where and walk?

Tried doing a pole thing, but could not get it to work. So do you think:

it is bad parking
or
it is not bad parking.

That's crap parking, and (IIRC) illegally close to the junction by the look of it.

A girl was sqaushed on the other side of the junction. not sure why i put that, but maybe to do with safety. That junction is so bad, so many RLJ's in cars, cans, lorries etc, and bikes. Adding more danger to it doesnt help

can't see the problem, who does it obstruct, road users have to deal with far more difficult obstacles than that, some of the third world stle roadworks lately are ridiculous

Having a pop at firemen is an excellent way for the cycling community to win friends and influence people.

The "I am a hazard to other road users" lights.

Don't you realise that these exempt you from all parking regulations!

I couldn't resist the other day as I was walking over a zebra crossing and a woman was getting out of her winking car on the other side. Oh, I said, I've got flashy lights so I can park on pedestrian crossings.

In a few decades I'll turn into the mad old woman down the street.

under the highway code any vehicle can stop on double yellows to let a passenger disembark from a vehicle or get into one. If it was a drop off and then dove around the block - perfectly legal. If they waited not so legal, but we do not know the reason why the fire engine was there.

bad typing on the title too! bad me. Wasnt a quick drop off but a waiting while mate pops into the bank. As for having a pop at them, certinaly not, surely they should know better? If it was a cement mixer, would people been as generous? I guess its ok. Just wondered what people thought.

I hate to burst any bubbles here but firemen as a whole are just as lazy and work shy as any other group of individuals. You get good and bad in all walks of life.

As to the OP, it doesn't bother me.
