After being frozen daft three weeks ago.Not just me my mate aswell.Can anybody recommend a decent but reasonable priced base layer garment.Long sleeved.

Not cheap, but I've a Rapha merino base layer. It. Is. Fab.

don't know what you mean by reasonably priced, but these aer about the 50 mark:
helly hansen ice crew (if you like it tight fitting)
or an icebreaker if you don't mind it non-tight fitting.

im with yello, used mine for 3 years very regularly. bought a merino top from howies was not cheap, but very thin and msishapen after first wash. i doubt those aldi will be of any substance but here to proved wrong .

Have you considered Bamboo? Just as good as merino but without the inexcusable barbarity involved in its production.

I used a Helly Henson one at work once. That was very warm, have that with a normal jersey ontop and you will be warm enough(well i would, but then i was out today in 2 short sleeve jerseys and felt warm enough)
They are £27 if i remember right and they are pretty good.
Or there are Crag Hopper Merino wool ones thats £30something, never tried one of them on, but they look good and quiet a few people seem to buy them.
