Didn't wear any in the summer, aside from a cotton t-shirt under my cycling jersey, in order to soak up sweat.

Got a fairly loose fitting Helly Hansen one, but it seems pretty good.

Isn't the jersey supposed to wick the sweat away though?

Surely soaking it up in s cotton T is counter productive?

Aldi do really good winter base layers in a few of their weekly specials, notably the cycling ones but also skiing (on at the moment ), motor biking (warmest I've got, so good I went back for another) and Golf (May have argyle pattern?!?). They all vary a bit in style and weight.

I wear Canterbury cold long sleeve as the need arises and Canterbury hot short sleeved if it's warmer, if it's hot just a cycling Jersey.

I have some of those aldi compression base layers, good for when its really cold .

I'm unhappy to say that after visiting both Rochdale Aldis there were no men's medium compression base layers left, and it looked like they had very few to start with on thursday, I didn't hunt as thoroughly but didn't see any men's medium merino base layers either.

Long sleeve baselayer top, summer jersey, winter jersey. Unpadded bib longs with either padded shorts or 3/4s underneath and socks (various lengths between ankle and just below the knee) and shin warmers if neccessary depending on the socks

Did they have large. I may be mad but i don't think it matters that much if a base layer is a size too big. I shot off to decathlon to get a merino bzrgain as recommended on here and they only had xxl left. I would normally be medium/large but i am getting on ok with it.

Doesn't really bother me - just means that when I cycle home, my jersey doesn't stink
