Baselayers

During the winter ive wore a DHB Merino baselayer and for being thin its done well, and now its going to warm up(i hope) im looking at getting some for warmer weather.

Do mesh one actually work or is it a gimmick. ?

If I like it on tomorrows ride I'll probably go home via Lidl's & buy another one

I tend to use Canterbury Cold and Hot base layers, both long and short-sleeved and generally bought at a discount via eBay.

Also, over the past year I've taken a liking to Skins A400 ones as well, but they're price-wise.

Don't think it keeps you any cooler, i like to wear something under my cycling tops and these feel better than a normal t shirt base layer,

Helly Hanson tops are very good (the 'old' style with the white blocks on the arms), I've worn them for fell-races -approaching zero degrees - & felt okay (wth just a club-vest over) - but dear, if bought full-price

Try the running shops, they'll have a good range of base-layers/thermal t's

I bought 3 of the hi-viz base-layers in the pic (perhaps better for fells??) from Bourne-Sport(?) a few months ago, they were on offer, as I think they had the wrong clour stiching?? (silver, not hi-viz) for about £4 each

Good luck finding more the day after, everytime I go on the day after work they only have 2 or 3 items in odd sizes that have been well mauled.

+1 for the skins A400, needless to say I only have one and that was bought as a present, would Love to buy more, I have had mine a couple of years and it has seen rugby training, running, cycling, weight lifting and is still going strong.
