Basingstoke Canal Route

Hi Guys

im trying to plan the best route for me to take to work. Does anyone know the rough distance along the Basingstoke canal from Ash, Surrey to Woking, Surrey?

Why would it be? Especially as it heads north out of Ash to Frimley rather than ENE towards Woking.

It's a lovely route, though.

On google maps, get directions from Ash, Surrey to Woking, Surrey, by foot, then drag a point on the route towards the canal and it matches reasonably well (tho' by road) -11.9 miles or thereabouts

was trying to find the shortest route to work!!! i did look at maps after i posted and saw the canal went completely the wrong way to start with! i could still pick a bit of it up at Brookwood i guess
