I had strong head wind . No rain though and it was relatively warm. Added about 5 mins onto total commute so not that bad.

Plus ... just ordered a nice bacon sarnie to replace all those lost calories

Yep - it was cutting 8 - 10mph off my usual speeds at the worst points, and there were times when the side-winds had me wrestling with an invisible strongman who was trying to turn the handlebars off to the right !

It only knocked about 8 minutes off my usual ride time over the 10 miles, but then I was putting in double the usual effort !!

A work colleague has brought in two huge bags of his Mum's tablet, so I'm off to give myself a total sugar rush now that I've had my Weetabix

I don't know what your talking about. It was a lovely morning.

Not too cold, a nice tail wind all the way to work and I knocked about 5 mins off my average time. Even the last hill wasn't as hard as it is normally.

same warm, light tailwind, grey skies, dry road (although it will probably be horrendous on the way home)

....yes it's a traditional Scottish sweet made from sugar, condensed milk and butter ....in appearance and texture it is probably best described as sugary fudge....as an adult I find it a bit too sweet now (and uber-fattening) but when I was a kid it was just 'the biz'...and only Scottish 'Mammie's' and 'Grannie's' could get it just right, the stuff in the shops just didn't work....

My mammie could never get it right, it was nearly always too soft, fudge/toffee like.

Aye, it sure was a bit blowy out there today. However, I only had one or two 'wall of wind' moments. You know it is windy when you have to pedal hard to go downhill....

All in all, that was pretty exciting!

But not base jumping off the Eiger exciting, for a commute I mean.
