They used to big up Jim'll Fix It, and look how that tale ended.

Big up by all means, but show so dignity and circumspection while doing so. As a public owned broadcaster they do have a knack for treadingnkn landmines that Channel 4, the other public owned broadcaster, seems to largely avoid.

It's a poor attempt to keep in with the kids who have turned to streaming and other worldly delights rather than the BBC.

Fortunately I don't pay for the coach loads of BBC types that descend on the festival every year.

There was a period when it seemed like all the presenters had been sent to the same " Walk towards the camera speaking and making exaggerated hand / arm gestures to emphasise what you are saying " workshop. Once I'd noticed it I couldn't unsee it, and for a time I'd use it for comic effect when talking to Mrs Tkk 😁
It's the same with certain words and phrases, like 'Unique' (even when it's anything but), 'Innovative', 'Ground Breaking' and of course... 'Iconic'. Everything is 'Iconic' these days.

Oh and 'Chilling'
Also 'Near miss'... It's a near hit!! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!

Oh and I've said this before, but

'Just'

"He was just 4"

"She was just 59"

What age are you?

Oh, I'm 'Just43'

What an utterly pointless word to prefix everything with!!

... And at what age do you stop being 'Just' anyway??

Well personally I'm very happy with coverage BBC provides of Glastonbury, there are certain groups and singers I'll watch out for but every year I'll find someone new I really like and doubt I would otherwise.

So, chapeau BBC I say

I do the same, check out the bands that have caught my ear whilst listening to 6music over the last 12 months and the older 80s/90s bands that are still going.

I think my high point last year (or the one before?) was Rick Astley & Blossoms play the music of The Smiths.. that was an unlikely gem of a gig.

The saturation coverage by the BBC is a disgrace imho. They are always banging on about a lack of funds and yet every year they send hundreds of staff on a jolly to Glastonbury. Their desperation to ‘get down with the youth’ and be somehow relevant in this day and age is embarrassing.

I would think if the rights got sold to Discovery for example there would be the same outcry as per TdF. Sure they are flogging it but so would ITV for example (and most likely cut to a commercial break mid act)
