Is that per berry?

I remember as a kid, hearing of a friend of my sister's who's family would get their racquets out and go play tennis for about 2 weeks a year.

Even as a kid, I thought that was utterly idiotic.

I imagine the sales of strawberries and cream probably rise over the same time period too. 🙄

In the long distant past I was a very casual tennis player, squash was more my thing those days.
Anyway, no question come Wimbledon fortnight the courts would suddenly be heaving only to be veritable ghost towns soon after.

Same with the snooker club that I used to go to every week.

When the world championships were on if you didn't get in there before 19:00 on a Friday you had to put your name on a waiting list for a table.

And because these part timers weren't very good they'd take ages over a single frame.

We're watching it now. Good coverage but there are very few actual bands these days. When I went in 97 there was Radiohead, Ash, levellers, ocean colour scene, nearly all bands.

And those stupid flags blocking everyone's view 🤬

Quite possibly due to the fact that it coincides with the strawberry season.
At least it did while we ate home grown products instead of importing worldwide.

A single farm in Kent supplies Wimbledon every year.

As I said in an earlier post, which music you like is personal taste. Just caught a bit of Celeste and some are raving about her vocal performance. Personally I thought she sounded tone deaf and was bloody awful.

The coverage of all the acts would be improved 1000% if they got rid of those cocking flags. I can't imagine what it's like being there with them in the way.

I love The 1975 but their set was very polite and professional which wasn't quite the thing. Good but not going to grab anyone. The lyrics that were on the screens for Chocolate were quite superb though.

The flags are another reason I wouldn't pay to go to Glasto, they are really irritating when you are in the crowd further back, you can't see the stage through them all. Doesn't seem to be an issue at other festivals
