Personally, I'd not lose any sleep if boxing were banned right now. However, Ali was about more than just boxing. I kinda thought people here might have been more thoughtful but I shouldn't be surprised.

Despite being utterly wrecked by brutality and injuries caused by his chosen job I'd cheerfully give him a humanitarian award. But that's not SPOTY.
