BBUN26 versus BBUN55

I need a new 68/113 bottom bracket for the peugeot after it give up yesterday. What's the difference between un26 and un55? Also is there another I should consider for the same money £12

UN55 is supposedly better quality -IIRC higher spec bearings, a metal cup (as opposed to plastic on the UN26) and a hollow CroMo axle instead of a boggo solid steel one
It'll be a few grams lighter too

Quality of the components as far as I understand. I'm running a couple of UN26s in my bikes which have been absolutely fine, but neither has done a huge mileage yet (just over 3000 miles each).

UN55 is supposed to last longer and is what I'll upgrade to when these wear out.

UN55 is fantastic. Whatever the extra cost, it is worth it. Will outlast anything else.

Excellent, just got to get the BB off but the lock ring is seized on. I think an evening soaked in Gt85 should do the trick
