Paniers can still be a convenient way of carrying smaller items, or stuff that you want out of the way of the kids... small goats eat anything

It breaks spokes regularly. Partly i think because i stupidly used a XC rather than a cargo (or DH) rated rim. And mostly because i am a fat basterd. The crappy old original wheel lasted 10+ years without a wimper. Wish i hadn't sold it now.
