I actually think the current beard fashion has grown up as people are seeing how manly Muslim men look with a decent beard.

Quite!

I stopped shaving years ago and wear a full beard. From time to time I give it a good strim so have had everything from heavy stubble to the full on ZZ Top look

I've been growing my own beard for two weeks months (Piss off, don't laugh!) ;)

My friends think it's hilarious.

"How long ago did you shave?" (With their bristly chins)...

"Oh... Two days, weeks... Months ago... You?"

"Hahahaha! Yesterday..."

I had mutton chops up until about two weeks ago. I shaved them off and am now in the process of growing a full on beard. I change the style of my beard every now and again. The only thing that remains pretty much a constant is my tash; I've had a tash most of my adult life.

I'm in Australia now, and it's very big here. Lots of young hipsters with what I'd call bushranger beards. It's so hipster, and so popular that I'm guessing the hipster "movement" is nearly over, to be replaced by something more esoteric and more annoying.

Even the man we purchased the grave from (yup, not here on holiday) sported a bushranger beard, and hipster "gauge" earrings.

(portlandia covered this important phenomenon a couple of years ago)
