I am going to change the bearings on my Stumpjumper FSR. Has anyone got any tips or recommendations on bearing removal. Will I be able to gently knock them out or do I need a proper bearing extractor? I am more relaxed on installing the new bearings with a home made press.

Cheers knowledgeable people of CC

As above - except if the old bearings are worn then it doesn't matter.

Replace the new ones with care using a press (make one up if needed ) make sure you press the the outer race or both races together.

If you just press the centre bit it can ruin the internal races and bearings.

If you make a homemade press with threaded rod you can use the old bearings and some washers to press in the new bearing .
