As of Friday, I will be starting a new job. I shall be cycling to work and back, which means I can finally join the ranks of the hardy cycle commuters.
Just over 5 miles, although on a nice day I can see myself extending that a bit.Nice, how far?
And de-stressed. I've cycled to interviews before, and it's amazing how calm I am compared to if I've taken the bus or car there.Good for you. Plenty of folk would drive that and arrive on a still cold engine, and that's what causes the pollution. You'll be having fun, keeping fit, and not polluting. Its win-win.
I should have said congratulations on the new job, enjoy that as well.I think I better give it a few weeks before turning up to work wearing lycra. Give people a chance to get to know me better first.
Thank you kind sirI should have said congratulations on the new job, enjoy that as well.
I don't have a problem with lycra, I am conscious though of how it seems to non-cyclists. I will wear it after a while, once they know I'm a cyclist.Five miles is a bit short IMO. 10 each way is just about ideal and coincidentally just what I do.
Don't worry about the Lycra, JMTFU! Are there any showers/changing facilities? On second thoughts, what am I saying? Forget about Lycra, it is a short commute, just wear whatever is convenient.

I have experience in the rain from working for deliveroo, so no fair weather cycling here. Love a bit of rain!Welcome to the daily commute. No wimping out on wind and rain y'hear!
Not quite daily, as this is a part-time job.Welcome to the daily commute. No wimping out on wind and rain y'hear!
