I have finally been able to get around to finishing off the front brakes tonight replaced the pad's and inner and outer cables along with some nice fresh bar tape.

Now bearing in mind this is the first time I have done anything like this before on a bike and there is plenty of room for improvement but I am quite happy with the results. The tape feels nice and I have clean shiny brake cables replacing the frayed and kinked ones.

Now to tackle the rear cable and bar tape.

@Stevec047 it looks like the pads are upside down in pic 3 , the fin shaped bits are to help guide the wheel into place plus rhe open end should be near the fork otherwise the inserts can work forward

Good job with the bar tape:okay: It's one of those jobs which I find really difficult. I've just about got it sussed now, but only after going through more tape than I care to remember!

yeah the shoes are upside down and the closed end of the retainer needs to be forward so the blocks cant slide out of them, as biggs pointed out
