Beginner knowledge for turbo wheel

Hi,
new to all of this, so bare with me!
I usually hop on my road bike or mountain bike and just ride it.
Due to an injury I’m slowly starting to exercise again.

I have a basic Tacx turbo trainer.
my road bike is a Whyte Devon, 18 speed, 700/28c
I’m looking to change the wheel rather than the tyre when using the turbo trainer.
I need advice on an exact wheel that will do the job. Seem to confuse myself the more I look.
Won’t need a brake, unless you think it’s necessary.

Why do you need to change either?

I ruined my last road tyre and don’t want to keep replacing tyres.

If you really want to change the wheel, any 700c that fits your bike would do, as long as the oln (over lock nut) diameter is the same as the present hub width.
But is it really worth having a different wheel, and then swapping the tyre over each time for the turbo?

Been using my Thorn touring bike for a turbo trainer for the last 6 years and just use the road tyre, it wears out just like it does on the road.......... as long as the said tyre is smooth why worry and no expense

To be honest probably won’t use it that often or for that long at a time, as I find it sooooo boring and prefer being out and about when I cam
