Bells !

I seem to remember a time when the “in” thing was to have a large bell mounted on the stem, not the bars. Does anyone else remember this?

Fwiw, the louder the bell, the better!

I have one of those, that needs a turn to ring Not terribly loud though. I like the sound of the bell which the guy on YouTube, Roland and Juliana: Bicycle Tourists uses, a lovely tone and long ring... what's the word for that, where the sound carries on after the inital ring?

Here goes. Seems many US states require a sound producing device, but no one enforces it. Any similarities on the other side of the pond ?

They're a legal requirement for a "roadworthy bike" in Germany.
