Bent Chain Ring - Ride After Service

I had my bike serviced just before a sportive. About 30 miles in I changed gear - perhaps a little sloppily - and then I can't pedal. I look down, and see that my middle ring is bent tf. The repair van guys say they have never come across this.

Question: has some muppet left something loose for this to happen or...?

Sorry, no serious input from me but I'm interested in how it happened.

I suppose if they tightened the bolts with it not correctly seated, that'd do it

Thanks Longers - I have had to concede that my own terrific strength might be at fault. It is a curse at times.

Yes, Tynan- I thought it could be something like that. Oh, well - under warranty so fixed for nowt. I had been looking forward to the sportive though
