I don't suppose anybody on here owns a Bentley do they?

Last night coming round Barclay Square in London when greyhaired middle aged gentleman driving his Bentley decides to veer across the road which results in me hitting the brakes rather than hitting him.

His window is open and the following conversation ensues.

Me: Use your bl00dy wing mirrors
Him: Why
Me: Pause as I am baffled by his response 'because they are there for a reason'
Him: What?
Me: The wing mirrors are not there for show, use them before manouvering
Him: Why
Me: because next time I will scratch your expensive car
Him: But I didn't see you
Me: exactly
Him: I didn't see where you came from
Me: YES, that's why you should use your wing mirrors
Him: But I didn't see you

At this point I lost the will to live and rode off.

Anyway, if anybody does own a Bentley, can you tell me if there is a section in there on how to use wing mirrors??

Sparkling repartee there...

I assume someone hit 'submit' in error. I'm on the edge of my seat now, to find out what was said!

No, brake lever down the side then stop and exchange details for him to pay for the damage to your brake lever.

OK, That's a better idea.

Excellent.... I expect with a chap like that time is money, so maybe you could have just kept on and on until the penny dropped, AND cost him a fortune...;)
Maybe he was a bit distracted 'cos Meltdown Monday means his bonus will be under £5million this year for the first time in ages.

I assume (given it was a Bentley) it was Berkeley Square. Was it at the south side? The traffic there is hairy.

Also why would you want to scratch his car (expensive or not)? He sounds a bit dozy but didn't try to hit you on purpose and wasn't aggressive. Well done for avoiding him though.

I dunno if the OP WANTED to scratch the car, maybe they just meant "if you do that again and hit me, your car will get scratched..." (I may be wrong, I haven't bothered to go back and read it verbatim...)

exactly, no intent on scratching car, i just said to him if you don't use your wing mirrors your car could get damaged!! If I hadn't manged to hit the brakes that would have been the result

And yes, location is spot on!
