Saw it in Birmingham. Fantastic night out. I'd heard of Beryl, but wasn't quite aware of how extraordinary her achievements were. Mind you, it's difficult to comprehend the depth and extent of her achievements even with the raw stats in front of you.

I was going to watch it with my eyes closed!

I realised later that it was probably a radio programme. I'll listen to it in bed while I am doing my usual round of Spider Solitaire, Sudoku, Backgammon and ...

... and I forgot to pick up a copy of the Metro, so I will not be doing its cryptic crossword tonight!

An old friend of mine has a photo of her being held up at the start of a TT. Standing behind her, next off, is Beryl Burton. She says that it wasn't long before she saw Beryl again, as she came past with the usual cheery comment.

Somewhere at my dad's I have her autograph. She opened the Youth Club he used to.work at in the early 70's. I'd never heard of her till then. I heard the play on radio when it was.broadcast a few weeks.ago. Missed the. play on stage though but if anyone knows if it's still touring I'd love to.go.
